“Public-private partnerships can help nonprofits rapidly grow a program, attract added resources and expand into new areas. Such partnerships have been critical in helping us at the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption scale our Wendy’s Wonderful Kids® program. This program finds safe, permanent homes for children lingering in foster care across the United States. To date, public-private partnerships have helped the Foundation scale in 18 states and gain a foothold in the remaining 32 states and the District of Columbia.
To maximize benefits and ensure the longevity of the arrangement, nonprofit leaders must take care to approach such partnerships strategically.”
